POSITION DETAILS

Eugenio Maria de Hostos Community College is a small college dedicated to creating an educationally rich, friendly, and warm environment. Our faculty and staff provide one-on-one academic support to help students develop the skills and confidence to achieve their personal and professional goals.

The Office of Admissions and Recruitment at Hostos Community College seeks applications for an Admission Advisor (Recruiter). The Admission Advisor reports to the Assistant Director. This in-person position is based in the Bronx and requires substantial travel. In addition to the overview duties, this position is also responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for assigned geographical recruitment territory and serves as a primary contact and enrollment advisor for college advisors (high school guidance counselors).

  • Conducts open house sessions to ensure applicants are fully informed of admission requirements and enrollment processes.

  • Provides general information on academic programs and student support services in person, via video conferencing, telephone, email, or by letter.

  • Inputs inquiry card information; tracks and communicates with prospects using the Anthology Connect CRM System.

  • Assists with various tasks, including application review and processing, transfer credit evaluation, residency review, and maintaining high customer service.

  • Keeps current with CUNY Admissions and related University policies and procedures.

  • Assists with day-to-day administration and supports office processes, procedures, and general clerical duties.

  • Works with other units of the College as needed.

  • Essential duties require on-campus presence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • 1 year experience working in admissions/enrollment setting

  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft or CUNYfirst student information systems

  • Knowledge of Customer Relations Management Systems or tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Availability to work evening and weekend hours

  • Must be available to travel in the five boroughs of New York City and/or the tri-state area

  • Conducts open house sessions and orientations to ensure applicants are fully informed of requirements and processes

  • Assists in direct recruiting at high schools, community outreach events, and other appropriate locations

  • Provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, email, or letter

  • Maintains current information about College programs and degree requirements

  • Performs related duties as assigned

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$44,411 - 49,960; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
