Element Materials Technology Metals Chemist in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Metal Chemist who will be primarily responsible for performing regeneration of water treatment to provide sufficient boiler water make up.

Responsibilities

  • The role is expected to successfully ensure the below:

  • Carry out efficiently the testing and analysis of metals using chemical methods

  • Report abnormal findings to laboratory management and perform preventive measures to prevent downtime of power and desalination systems

  • Maintain accurate and legible records of technical work and maintain equipment according to schedule

  • Assist with testing/ analysis of non-routine samples as directed

  • Maintain and control power and desalination plant water chemistry as well as drinking water

  • Organise personal work schedules and maintain awareness of health and safety inside the plant.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Chemistry Graduate

  • Laboratory experience

  • Awareness of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work required to perform duties

  • Minimum 3 year experience as a Shift Chemist

  • Strong and determined quality focus with indefatigable determination to get the job done under the most challenging conditions

  • Self-motivated team player with excellent organisational skills

  • Exceptional communication skills and good reporting skills
