System One Lead Database Admin in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Overview
The position plays a focal role maintaining data platforms and database development. The position will lead in planning, evaluating, and selecting the right database platform to host data for specific use case. As part of a highly collaborative team, the role will interact with many technical and business resources across the enterprise.The ideal candidate is a committed, creative, self-motivated technologist who is interested in practicing his or her skills and learning new ones.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical and policy leadership to data platform administrators
Guide and mentor teammates to follow best practices and align with IT strategy
Implement best practices and security standards on the data platforms that support enterprise products and services
Author SOPs, configuration specifications and related technical documentation
Contribute to improving and creating data platform policies, procedures, and operational standards, as well as documenting the current data storage landscape
Maintain an in-depth understanding of KPIs related to Service Level Agreements
Responsible for documentation standards and automation across the database services space
Contribute to plans and road map for patching, security, audit, capacity, products, and future enhancements
Provide technical leadership to support databases on Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, and Azure Cloud Services ADF, Databricks, ADLS, Cosmos Db (Mongo DB API), and Key Vault, and Replication tools SQDR, Simplement, and HVR
Plan, design and build HA and DR for enterprise data platforms
Support the future direction of modern data platform and migrations
Provide guidance on CI/CD process for the databases, tools, and products mentioned
Support systems integrity and audit objectives.
Audit and continuously monitor the current environments to meet the standards and compliance
Drive adherence to service management support processes (ITSM, Incident, Problem, Change, and RCA processes)
Monitor performance issues on all production and non-production databases (as applicable) implementing performance monitoring and trending on all production and applicable non-production databases with tools.
Create run books and knowledge base
Continuously improve database and Database Administration services to provide 24 x 7 world-class support.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop enterprise database strategies for High Availability and Data Safeguarding.
Collaborate with Data, Application, and Infrastructure Architects to ensure optimal enterprise solutions
Complete other tasks as required
Experience, Education and Skills
8+ years of working in Information Technology
8+ years of DBA experience in any of the following: MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL
3+ years DBA Experience on NoSQL databases – Document, Graph and Timeseries
3+ years of DBA experience of cloud databases like SQL MI, Cosmos DB, Databricks and understand the performance implications
3+ years of experience in supporting BI and Analytics workloads – Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Azure Databricks, Azure Analysis services, Power BI
3+ years' experience in SQL development and performance tuning
Working knowledge of Change Data Capture (CDC)
Strong experience modeling Relational, Dimensional, and unstructured data
Ability to communicate and execute new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices, policies, and technology
Must have a thorough understanding of security practices such as LDAP, SSL, SSO, and certificate management
Experience with ITSM methodologies preferred.
Proven work ethic with the utmost integrity

Experience with agile methodologies: SCRUM
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience.
