JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, of Power Systems Sales & Emerging Markets will work with other Division Managers to ensure the achievement of departmental, divisional, and corporate objectives. Provide leadership and management of the Commercial Engine Sales Team developing annual business plans and creating strategies and actions to achieve sales objectives. Responsible for department personnel, sales, profits, and expense control monitoring key performance metrics and seeking opportunities for process improvement and margin optimization. Develop and maintain positive relationships with Caterpillar and other key manufacturer personnel to gain their support and to ensure our objectives align with theirs to ensure combined success. Responsible for administration of company policies and procedures. Work to position Ohio CAT Power Systems as an asset to the markets we serve as well as the communities in which we operate.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Candidate should possess a strong business acumen with the ability to provide guidance and direction to a technical sales team building relationships and growing market share.

  • Should be able to prepare a business plan and create strategies and actions to share across all product nodes.

  • Additional responsibilities as directed by the Vice President of Sales and Rental include evaluation of emerging markets and employing opportunistic strategies to diversify product offerings.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Ten years of electric power or industrial engine industry experience.

  • Minimum of two years of sales management experience.

  • Experience in the long lead, highly technical, capital equipment sales preferred.

  • Excellent people skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

  • Ability to travel throughout the Ohio CAT territory weekly as well as attend Caterpillar or industry meetings and events as needed.

  • Knowledge and experience with the dealer/manufacturer relationship.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    ​ Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
