Red Hat Software Quality Engineer - OpenShift Analytical Tools in Brno, Czech Republic

The Red Hat Observability Intelligence team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to work with us in the Czech Republic. In this role, you will work with a team developing data analytical functions for Red Hat’s leading hybrid cloud platform, OpenShift. You'll be responsible for all aspects of quality for the developed functions which may be integrated into various Red Hat products, including designing test plans, extending automation frameworks, and developing new automated tests for both back and front ends. You will make sure our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, specifically around Performance and Scalability. As a Software Quality Engineer, you will gain a technical understanding of a variety of popular technologies, including AI, analytics, containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.

What you will do

  • Design, develop and maintain automation frameworks, scripts and performance benchmarking tools with Python, Golang and for OpenShift testing and implementation.

  • Conduct new feature research and design test cases with emphasis on Performance and Scalability.

  • Execute manual and automated tests for the developed components and deliver clear status in a timely manner.

  • Explore, identify and document new bugs. Advocate for the resolution of bugs and communicate the impact on customers to developers and support

  • Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies

  • Work in one team with the developers in a fast-paced Agile global environment of talented engineers

What you will bring

  • 2+ years of professional experience in QE

  • Familiarity with testing methodologies and techniques

  • Knowledge of Linux containers, Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift

  • Programming skills in Python

  • Experience performing web interface automation using Selenium

  • Experience with Git or other source control technologies

  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

The following are considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system (any distribution)

  • Golang or another programming language

  • Knowledge of Tekton, Prow

  • User knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2

  • Familiarity with with data mining, statistical analysis or machine learning

  • Contributions to open source projects or publicly available code samples
