Verification and Validation Scientist

To strengthen our agile Life Science Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry team, we are looking for a motivated scientist. If you enjoy working with a multicultural, and worldwide team, this is your job.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead verification and validation activities on various hardware platforms

  • Work with scientists and engineers to generate sound requirements, develop, perform and document all verification and validation activities.

  • Provide validation results back to R&D and suppliers including detailed technical guidance to close identified gaps

  • Focus on continuous improvement initiatives in material cost reduction, and capacity enhancement

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience

  • Strong knowledge of both LC and MS instrumentation. Must be comfortable discussing the components of a mass spectrometer, High vacuum systems, ion optics, quadrupole, ion trap and Orbitrap analyzers as well as aspects of liquid chromatography.

  • Experience in low volume, high-value, large complex systems such as scientific instrumentation, medical devices, or semiconductor process systems is highly preferred

  • Experience with the design of electro-mechanical systems for operation in stress conditions (thermal, chemical, pressure, etc.)

Keys to Success

  • Detail oriented and self-motivated individual able to work in multi-national multi-disciplinary team in supporting the development of high-performance mass spectrometric instrumentation and related technologies

  • University degree in physics, chemistry, or related science, or equivalent

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to plan and complete activities with a strong sense of urgency to deliver results

  • Strong ability to form relationships with product & vertical Marketing, product development scientists, and engineers

  • Fundamental understanding of advanced electronics and precision mechanics

  • Understanding of mechanical designs for vacuum and ultra-high vacuum systems preferred

  • Experience with product validation testing to confirm specifications and product performance

  • Applications knowledge in one or more of Proteomics, Lipidomics, Pharma/Biopharma, Clinical or Food & Environmental analytical industries preferred

  • Proficient in English

  • Ability to travel up to 20% globally
