To strengthen our agile Life Science Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry team, we are looking for a motivated Software Test Scientist. If you enjoy working with a multidisciplinary, multicultural, and worldwide team, this is your job.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing on various software platforms to assess design and performance in support of Thermo Fisher Scientific's new product development for hardware.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish comprehensive requirements and develop test cases based on functional specifications and design documents.

  • Work closely with the test automation team to ensure a clear understanding of instrumentation and assist in automating manual tests.

  • Collaborate with development and validation teams to plan, perform, and document verification and validation activities.

  • Maintain and update test cases and bug reports in databases, including filing and tracking.

  • Conduct characterization of newly developed instrument hardware and software.

Education/Experience

  • University degree in, Biology, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, related science, or equivalent education and work experience

  • Experience with Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry or similar separation techniques

  • Shown hands on knowledge of both LC and MS instrumentation. Comfortable discussing the components of a mass spectrometer, aspects of liquid chromatography, mass spectrometer ionization sources and their impact on design or application performance

  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of Proteomics, Lipidomics, Pharma/Biopharma, Clinical or Food & Environmental analytical industries

  • Experience with product testing to confirm specifications and product performance is beneficial

  • Experience testing software for commercial applications, preferably for instrument control software products is beneficial

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Detail oriented and self-motivated individual able to work in multi-national multi-disciplinary team

  • Programming skills in a major programming language or scripting language would be preferred

  • Knowledge of software testing techniques, test automation or testing tools like Test Complete, Selenium or similar products is an advantage

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in English

  • Ability to travel up to 20% globally
