We are looking for:

A student who is experienced in basic experiments and chemistry and organic chemistry knowledge to support the Synthesis Team in Surfactants and Natural polymers Development projects for the Business Unit markets (Agro, Home and Personal Care, Coatings and Industrial Solutions).

We count on you to:

  • Understand and respect all Bristol site safety rules.

  • Proactively support the development of new molecules (surfactants and natural polymers).

  • Develop more sustainable chemical routes.

  • Perform lab-scale experiments in order to obtain all necessary data.

  • Characterize the samples by NMR, FTIR …

  • Analyze the lab data acquired and efficiently communicate results internally.

  • Periodically summarize results and discuss conclusions with the project team and the Techno R&I team.

You can count on us:

  • To carry out guided research where observation, independent deduction and directional input will be encouraged.

  • To support and train you on the lab work and safety associated with it.

  • To give you the opportunity to interact with the different research teams in several scientific domains (e.g., microbiology, analytical, process safety,...).

  • To develop your project management skills and knowledge on methodology for product development from the laboratory to the industrial scale.

You will bring:

  • In pursuit of Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

  • Theoretical & practical knowledge on organic chemistry and characterization such as NMR, FTIR is preferred.

  • Interest in laboratory work.

  • Proactivity, autonomy and open-mindedness.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work on several projects.

  • Be able to solve problems.
