The Opportunity:
KBR is currently undertaking Expression of Interest applications for Project Managers for various Maritime Programs in our Capability Sustainment and Modernisation operational unit.
This role involves planning, organising, coordinating, and controlling engineering projects and sustainment activities in strict accordance with established company policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
You will manage aspects of project budget, risk, scope, and schedule, to achieve the outcomes of the project agreement within the Defence capability lifecycle and sustainment framework.
The Project Manager will actively contribute to day-to-day client communication, striving to ensure client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
Develop comprehensive project documentation and plans, outlining timelines, and resource requirements
Monitor and control project activities to meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations
Analyse and interpret project performance against agreed plans and develop strategies to ensure project outcomes are achieved
Provide updates on project progress, address client concerns, and ensure overall client satisfaction
Facilitate project workshops with key stakeholders and accelerate any recommended actions as a result
Recommend approaches for risk identification, analysis, treatment, and control, using expertise to improve risk management practices
Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders through effective communication and problem-solving
Ensure projects comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
Pursue continuous professional development and stay abreast of industry trends and advancements
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or Project Management
Strong Maritime background
Extensive experience in undertaking and managing projects within Defence or related technical industry (CASG/Defence/Defence Industry)
Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, organisation, and coordination
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team engagement
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
Proficient in project management tools and software
Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills
The ability to gain and maintain a NV-1 minimum Australian Government Security Clearance
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Negative Vetting 1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
