Express Employment Professionals Maintenance Technician (Machine Repair, Robotics & Facilities Support) in Brighton, Michigan

Location: Wixom, MI Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM -- 2:30 PM, Monday -- Friday) with overtime as needed Pay Rate: Up to $30/hour (flexible for the ideal candidate)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in Wixom, MI. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with advanced robotics systems, with the potential for long-term growth as the company expands.

Position Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of technical equipment, production facilities, and robotic cells. This role requires expertise in PLCs, robotics, welding/fabrication, and general building maintenance. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience or have completed a vocational mechatronics program and is looking for a long-term career opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facilities, including robotic cells with material-handling robots.
  • Troubleshoot and rehome/reset equipment using PLCs (Siemens and Allen Bradley).
  • Perform error analyses to identify root causes of system malfunctions.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication tasks using onsite MIG, TIG, and Arc welding equipment.
  • Assist in setup and optimization of machines and systems, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Complete structural and constructive modifications to equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection documentation.
  • Support facility upkeep, including clearing roof vents, plumbing, fixture repairs, and outdoor maintenance tasks such as removing fallen trees.
  • Collaborate on technical projects, including installation of new robotic cells.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance OR completion of a mechatronics program from a vocational school.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens and Allen Bradley).
  • Experience with robotic systems, including Kuka, Fanuc, Epson, and Mitsubishi.
  • Familiarity with vision systems (Cognex) and Eddy Current Forrester equipment.
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, Arc) and using a lathe.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to perform general building maintenance and repairs.
  • Solid understanding of technical drawings and machine operations.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills with an independent and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or adjust schedules for equipment maintenance on second shift.
