Job Summary and Qualifications

I.POSITION SUMMARY

Renders professional nursing care to maternity patients and newborns and individualizes patient care through use of the nursing process for patients. Demonstrates professional conduct and accountability while supporting Hospital mission and philosophy. This level designates clinical RNs who choose to become experts within their specialty. Demonstrates clinical expertise in the following areas: antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and newborns.

II.POSITION REQUIREMENTS

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Current Utah licensure as a Registered Nurse. Compact license accepted.

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 90 days of hire

  • NRP/STABLE within 90 days of hire or next available class

B. Education:

  • Graduate from an Associate Degree Nursing program.

C. Experience:

  • 1 Year clinical nursing experience or the equivalent required

III.DEGREE OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED

Employee is expected to perform most duties independently and in accordance with established policies and procedures. The supervisor of this position will provide support and general guidance.

Brigham City Community Hospital (https://mountainstar.com/locations/brigham-city-community-hospital/) has been the primary center of medicine for Box Elder County for more than 35 years. This 49 plus bed facility is committed to ensuring that quality medical care is provided to the residents of northern Utah. The facility utilizes the most up-to-date technology available with a state-of-the-art imaging center, including an in-house MRI, a nuclear medicine scanner and digital mammography. At the same time, the facility maintains the warm, friendly atmosphere that eases the stress of hospitalization for patients and enhances the work environment for employees.
