Physician Assistant:

• Within the standard scope of a physician assistant.
• Maintains regular clinic hours.
• Education and training and clinical practice.
• Assistant in surgery as requested by physician.
• Write surgical orders and prescriptions as requested by physician.
• Call responsibility may be shared by the physician and physician assistant PRN as requested by the physician.
• Rounds at hospital facilities as requested by physician.
• Performs comprehensive and problems focused history of physical exams, interpret and correlate lab and diagnostic procedures. Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnosis and establish a working diagnosis. Formulate a treatment plan for orthopedic problems within the scope of the practice. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising orthopedic surgeon.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including but not limited to joint inverse aspiration, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations after consultation with the on-call orthopedic surgeon, injections of joints, tendons, trigger points and bursa. Bracing, casting and splint application.
• Other duties as agreed-upon by the physician and the physician assistant.
