Bausch Health Manager, Patient Pharmacy Strategy in Bridgewater, New Jersey

The Manager, Patient Pharmacy Strategy, will manage the business rules and program designs for all patient copay assistance programs across Bausch Health. This role will require a strong understanding of the current healthcare ecosystem with extra focus on financial implications to all stakeholders. In addition, the role will collaborate actively with Brand and Market Access (MA) Leadership, Trade & Channel Strategy, Strategic Pricing, and Finance to determine the appropriate programs to put into the market as well as KPIs and approach to measurement of effectiveness. The position will report directly to the Director, Patient Pharmacy Strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Patient Support Program (PSP) vendors to support (provide operational guidance and alignment to company goals) /monitor/analyze the key performance metrics for the brand including the utilization trends.

  • Assess and evaluate PSP vendors on a regular basis to ensure alignment to company / Brand goals.

  • Work across Brands to assess copay program economics and execute agreed upon business rule change implementations.

  • Establish partner selection criteria and program requirements to align patient needs and brand objectives. The Manager will lead capabilities discussions, vendor negotiations, and the selection process.

  • Ensure program development and implementation with pharmacies in accordance with regulations and internal policy. Manage all legal, compliance, privacy, fair market value assessments, and program monitoring.

  • Utilize program analytics to optimize patient outcomes, drive brand strategies and provide KPI tracking for leadership.

  • Monitor new developments in pharmacy capabilities, integrations with vendors, and technology innovations and adapt programs for a best-in-class patient experience.

  • Collaborate closely with MA Analytics and MA Account Management to optimize the overall Rebate plus Copay spend across the Bausch Health portfolio.

  • Build financial estimates to support Brand Finance and corporate reporting. Proactively manage program spend.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced qualifications preferred, e.g., MBA, CPA

  • A minimum of 5 years of healthcare business experience (i.e., account management, analytics, customer service, marketing, operations, payer/access experience, pharmacy services, supply chain, sales is required)

  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and influencing strategic supplier relationships

  • Understanding of fair market value and pharmacy fee for service agreements

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, cross-functional team atmosphere

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Strong computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Working knowledge of Tableau and Alteryx a plus.

  • Working knowledge in pharmacy systems, adjudication, and fulfillment

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical gross to net

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience in managing / leading within a complex organization

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team-based culture
