Davidson Logistics Diesel Technician in Bridgeton, Missouri

PAY: Up to $30.00 - $35.00 per hour (Depending on experience)
HOURS: Monday-Friday; 7:00AM-3:30PM

TITLE: Diesel Technician
LOCATION: 13930 Missouri Bottom Road Bridgeton, Missouri 63044
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on gas, propane, electric and diesel engines
Perform equipment diagnostics and determine what repairs are needed, if required
Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
Maintain current product knowledge of equipment
Maintain knowledge of changing technologies in the industry
Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation
Perform shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities
Use proper procedures for the handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials
Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to perform duties in an efficient and safe manner
Ability to wear prescribed uniform and appropriate safety equipment
Ability to execute work within standard repair times
Ability to use a computer including shop maintenance program
Successfully pass background check, drug screen, and physical ability test
Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and inspection criteria
Ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology
Ability to read, write and speak in English
Must possess a strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills
Must have own tools
Regular and reliable attendance
Education and Experience:
3 years of diesel service education and technical experience
5 years' experience in general heavy truck repair, automotive repair or equipment repair
Physical Requirements
Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, grasping, and feeling
Occasionally work in cramped and awkward positions
Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 40 lbs.
This position reports to the General Manager.
