Hussmann Corporation Compensation Accounting & Treasury Manager in Bridgeton, Missouri

Overview

As a critical leader on the finance team, this role is accountable for Compensation Accounting functions, as well as Corporate Treasury. Accountable for the integrity of all corporate managed balance sheet and income statement items related to compensation, benefits and cash. The Manager leads and develops the Compensation Accounting and Treasury teams. Additionally, they operate with a 'challenge and change' mindset to drive process improvement within their team and other finance areas. They are accountable to manage the team to hit key deadlines related to month-end close, quarter-end, monthly forecasts, the annual planning process, J-SOX audits and the annual external audit. As a member of finance leadership, this role is accountable for partnering with other functional area leaders to drive and disseminate the company's strategic initiatives and ensuring that the team is providing quality service to internal customers such as Business Unit Controllers, IT, Human Resources and Payroll, and the HLT.

Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert for all compensation accounting balance sheet and income statement activity

  • Accountable for the accurate and timely recording of actuals, forecast and plan for all compensation and benefits accounting activity.

  • Coordinate with Business Unit Controllers to ensure understanding and alignment on material compensation related entries and reserves for actuals, forecast and plan.

  • Partner with HR and other Corporate Departments on forecast and plan deliverables.

  • Lead Benefit Plan Audits, JSOX Audits, Annual Audits and 5500 Filings (Pension, 401K and H&W).

  • Collaborate with HR and Business Unit Controllers to execute and improve annual incentive plan processes.

  • Subject matter expert for all Treasury daily, monthly and quarterly responsibilities, as well as for all Panasonic requirements.

  • Oversee cash balance and forecast reporting to Panasonic, as well as monitor revolver activity. Facilitate cash management education to all functional areas.

  • Partner with Corporate Accounting for cash flow forecasting and plan development

  • Maintain and facilitate relationships with critical Hussmann third party service partners

  • Motivate and engage team members to partner with finance and other functional area leaders and address internal and external customer needs.

  • Maintain continual focus on growth and development for directs, as well as building a strong of sense of team-player mentality. Support general Corporate Accounting functions as needed to promote a team environment.

  • Accountable for corporate departments assigned to this group, including the preparation of business plan, forecast and the review of actual results, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the results.

  • Assist and support the Director of Corporate Accounting with special projects and ad-hoc efforts

  • Drive process improvements, efficiencies and lead projects that support the Hussmann strategic Initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA a plus

  • 7-10 years of increasing finance/accounting experience, payroll/benefits/pension experience preferred

  • 2-5 years of leadership experience and managing a team

  • Experience managing month-end close timelines, checklists and reporting

  • Proficiency working in Treasury Management systems preferred

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Extensive experience with finance consolidation systems, as well as manufacturing ERPS

  • Ability to train and coach

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities
