Location: Bremerton, Washington Type: Non-exempt Compensation: $26.25 - $38.07 (Skookum's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.) Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm (flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs) As a Security Specialist you'll... support the overall success of security-related functions, by working with Skookum employees, recruiters, HR partners, and Site Managers to initiate and complete security background checks, renewals, and facility badging, contractual required training for all of Skookum employees. This position reports directly to the Security Manager/ Facility Security Officer (FSO) and, in addition to security background checks, assists with enforcing government and company security policies, as well as provide direction and guidance regarding these program security regulations. Also, to maintain physical security requirements, respond/address security matters from employees/customers and ensure they meet compliance of government security directives. This position may act as an Assistant FSO in their absence. Administer day-to-day security programs, personnel processing, program reviews, document control systems, audit & self-inspections, violation investigations & reports, clearance briefs/debriefs, and waiver applications. Maintain personnel clearances, investigations, Government non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), restricted access permissions, reports, and foreign travel in DISS (Defense Information System of Security). Participate and assist with developing and administering a comprehensive Security Awareness and Education Program, to include but not limited to Initial Security Briefs & Annual Security Refresher and Insider Threat training. Establish and maintain working relationships with Government customers across various agencies to include but not limited to Dept. of Defense (DoD), Dept. of Energy (DoE), Dept. of Homeland Security (DoH), National Institute of Health (NIH), Dept. of State (DoS), and General Services Agency (GSA) as well as commercial customers who are DoD or other government agency contractors. Investigate and report security violations and incidents both internally and externally, if applicable. Participate in new hire onboarding and offboarding processes. Assist employees with investigation process for personnel security clearances via eAPP (Electronic Questionnaire for Investigation Processing) to include SF85 and SF86 application assistance and accommodations for employees with disabilities when needed. Responsible for supporting divisions as assigned in all security matters to include but not limited to obtaining credentials/badge(s), CAC (Common Access Card), vehicle passes, VARs (Visit Access Request) for employees, vendors, subcontractors, and visitors as requested by Skookum personnel.
