Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Brea, California

Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist for our client in Brea. This role primarily involves preparing and processing payments, maintaining ledgers, and resolving discrepancies in accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payments, tracking transactions, and maintaining vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, sort, verify, code, and enter invoices into accounting software in a timely manner.

• Review all invoices for appropriate supporting documentation and approval before payment.

• Perform three-way matching of invoices to verify accuracy.

• Post accounts payable transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records within accounting software.

• Monitor budgeted expenses and process employee reimbursements after verifying expense reports.

• Keep track of assigned accounts to ensure payments are up to date.

• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues, following up as necessary.

• Maintain vendor relationships by responding to inquiries via phone, mail, and email.

• Reconcile vendor accounts by comparing monthly statements and related accounts payable transactions.

• Maintain vendor files and historical records by filing necessary copies of vouchers, invoices, or correspondence.

• Uphold financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls and maintaining confidentiality of company information.

• Utilize Excel and other Accounts Payable (AP) tools to accomplish tasks efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 year experience in an Accounts Payable role

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing invoices

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Good organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
