Amazon Tax Analyst, DST & Local Consumer Tax Compliance Team in Bratislava, Slovakia

Our Digital Service Tax and Local consumer tax team is seeking a dynamic professional to join our growing tax compliance team based in Bratislava, Slovakia. You will be part of a pioneering tax team tackling one of the most exciting and challenging areas in modern taxation. The digital economy is transforming how businesses operate globally, and you'll play a crucial role in shaping how these digital services are taxed and the relevant compliance processes operated.

The Amazon Tax Department is a fast-paced, team-focused, and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high level of collegiality and be comfortable directly liaising with various finance, accounting, legal and tax teams within the company. You will need to be proactive enough to keep up with the pace of the business, be able to adapt to a changing environment, collaborate effectively with multiple teams in different geographies, and communicate effectively with business teams and senior leaders.

Key job responsibilities

As a Tax analyst your key job responsibilities (as part of the team) will include:

• Preparing tax calculations and related filings with respect to Digital Service Taxes globally and Local Consumer taxes within EMEA;

• Assist with related DST/Local Consumer tax registrations across various jurisdictions;

• Assist in the mapping of compliance processes, and identify areas for improvement and solutions for VAT issues;

• Perform hands on detailed data research and analysis of large financial data sets;

• Provide internal and external audit support, including data analysis;

• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in cross-functional projects with a priority on automation and in-housing;

• Supports business growth and on-boarding of new entities to compliance processes.

Base pay for this position starts from EUR 2,125+ gross per month and salary depends on the skills and requirements, there will be further pay components such as a sign on bonus and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in tax, accounting, finance, law or related field

• 2+ years of experience of working in a tax advisory or tax compliance function

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products at an advanced level, Advanced in MS Excel;

• Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Other language such as French, Spanish are beneficial

• A recognised accounting or tax qualification is beneficial, but not a must (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT or similar);

• Computer skills in the field of data analytics/data manipulation (SQL, Alteryx, etc.);

• Able to take ownership of work, implement change, and demonstrate a problem-solving approach;

• Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.

• Collaborate team player who is comfortable with a fast paced and dynamic environment

• Experience of operating and executing compliance processes

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management
