Introduction

As the Lead Developer for our Generative AI initiatives, you will spearhead

the development and implementation of advanced AI-driven learning and

knowledge solutions. Leveraging IBM's watsonx platform and state-of-the-

art pretrained models such as Granite, Mistral, and Llama 3, you will

build scalable, secure, and efficient applications on the IBM Cloud

infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Data

Scientists, UX/UI Designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-impact

solutions that drive innovation within IBM.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of generative AI-basedsolutions, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.-Write, review, and optimize code for AI models, APIs, user interfaces,and backend services using best practices.-Provide technical direction and mentorship to the development team,fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.-Work closely with the Solution Architect to translate architecturaldesigns into functional software components.-Implement and fine-tune pretrained models such as Granite, Mistral,and Llama 3 within the watsonx framework.-Leverage IBM's watsonx platform to enhance generative AIcapabilities, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.-Develop and deploy AI solutions on IBM Cloud, utilizing cloud-nativeservices for compute, storage, networking, and AI-specific offerings.-Collaborate with data scientists, UX/UI designers, product managers,and other stakeholders to integrate AI components seamlessly into thoverall solution.-Communicate progress, challenges, and technical decisions effectivelyto both technical and non-technical stakeholders.-Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprintplanning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure projectalignment and continuous delivery.-Ensure high standards of code quality through regular code reviews,automated testing, and adherence to coding standards.-Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies, includingunit, integration, and system testing to ensure robust and reliablesolutions.-Optimize AI models and applications for performance, scalability, andcost-efficiency on IBM Cloud.-Keep abreast of the latest advancements in generative AI, IBM Cloudservices, and relevant technologies to continuously enhance thesolutions.

Identify and implement improvements in development processes,tools, and methodologies to increase team efficiency and productquality.-Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including codedocumentation, API specifications, and deployment guides.-Implement security best practices in the development lifecycle,ensuring that solutions comply with IBM's security policies andindustry standards.-Ensure that data handling within AI solutions adheres to data privacyregulations and best practices

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience:

Minimum 5+ years in software development, with significantexperience in leading development teams.-Proven experience in developing and deploying AI/ML solutions,particularly generative AI models.-Hands-on experience with IBM's watsonx platform and IBM Cloudinfrastructure.Technical Skills:-Proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript relevantto AI development.-Strong experience with AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch,and their application in generative models.-Expertise in deploying and fine-tuning models like Granite, Mistral,and Llama 3.-Proficiency with IBM Cloud services, including compute, storage,networking, and AI-specific offerings.-Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git),and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).-Strong understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.-Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases relevant to AIapplications.-Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, data encryption,and compliance standards.Soft Skills:-Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering acollaborative and innovative environment.-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability toconvey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technicalchallenges effectively.-Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiplepriorities and meet deadlines.-High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects ofdevelopment and documentation
