Position Overview: The Field Services Technician will provide high quality service in installing and troubleshooting video services, internet, and telephone in customer homes and businesses. The primary responsibility of the Field Services Technician is to provide high quality, effective and efficient service and support customers during the installation and repair process. Install, maintain and service customer premise equipment within a fiber, copper, fixed wireless or collocation network. Service and understand the facilities of the network and the infrastructure. Field Services Technician will partner with all departments and network support in providing the highest quality on-premise service to customers, both residential and business clients. Field Services Technician will effectively communicate face-to-face with customers. Extensive travel out of the Brainerd Lakes Area in addition to overnight travel will be expected. Key Responsibilities: Install, disconnect, and troubleshoot video service, internet, and telephone equipment in customer homes and businesses. Identify and try to remedy sources of customer-perceived issues. Review all requested services with the customer to ensure understanding and/or propose acceptable solutions. Verify installed service by testing equipment and cabling. Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues. Maintains and repairs existing equipment by using test sets to locate line trouble. Determines necessary repairs. Conduct customer contacts and complete site surveys. Performs fiber optic testing, preparation, and splicing when necessary. Train and provide knowledge to the customer regarding product and service usage. Completes all installation and repair-related forms and reports electronically within the company operating system. Provides accurate and pertinent customer information in the records. Clean, maintain, and stock vehicle and equipment. Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/after-hours responsibilities as needed Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.* *These tasks do not meet the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 definition of essential job functions and are usually less than 5% of time spent.
