Job Summary: The Area Director is responsible for managing and leading Regional Managers within LSS Meals across a significant portion of Minnesota. This work involves hiring and developing regional leaders who can deliver on the mission of LSS Meals by providing critical nutrition to Minnesotans in need. Work includes networking with potential clients and managers/directors of service areas to expand service. Promoting volunteerism and outreach to serve as many people as possible. Ensuring compliance with state and federal funding requirements. Financial oversight of budgets to ensure established performance goals are met. Fostering a positive environment for staff to develop, grow, and achieve personal outcomes. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Business, Management, Communications, or equivalent work experience preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in service operations and supervision, preferably in Nutrition and/or Older Adult and Community Based Services. Experience with food programs such as Older Americans Act, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and School lunch program. Two years of experience working with volunteers and community partners. Driver's license required. Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) clearance is required. Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required. Ability to accept/follow through with direction, recognize boundaries, be creative and suggest/implement strategies to enhance the service, patience, self-control, and flexibility. High level of accountability. Ability to think strategically, set goals, and drive for results. Ability to react appropriately and communicate quickly and clearly in an emergency. Basic computer skills.
