The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an EMEA Business Development Manager for Nextel Ceramic Fibers, you will be responsible for supporting the development of customer relationships and market understanding with some of the Europe’s leading aerospace, automotive, energy and engineering companies. You will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading the Sales function for one of 3M’s fastest growing businesses.

  • Identification of new business opportunities for our range of Nextel Ceramic Fibers.

  • Drive new technologies platforms within the Aerospace, Automotive, Engineering and Industrial sectors.

  • Strong Key Account management and relationship development within existing account base in order to maximize future growth potential.

  • Strategic alignment and tactical coordination across the 3M organisation with Global Business Platform leaders and Marketing teams.

  • Identification and monitoring of market trends, opportunities and risks within the target market sectors.

  • Maintaining highest level of business compliance and quality standards.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Strong background of specification-driven selling within a highly technical, materials science business.

  • Experience of successfully leading a multi-national technical specification sales team.

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of at least two of our key target markets: Automotive, Aerospace, Defence.

  • Significant experience within a similar high-tech, Business Development role.

  • Knowledge of Technical Fiber technologies or similar materials.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to form strong relationships with internal and external customers/stakeholders.

  • Good knowledge of CRM systems. Salesforce.com desirable.

  • Technical/Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar materials science qualification.

  • Business or Marketing qualification. MBA desirable.

Travel: May include up to 30% domestic and international travel

Primary location: Bracknell
