From bridge and structural engineering to civil, electrical, mechanical, and process engineering, Kleinfelders collaborative Design Services create synergy across multiple disciplines. Step into Your New Role Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Engineer or Manager for our Transportation team in Bowling Green (near Toledo), Ohio. In this position, you will have the opportunity to expand on your current skills while mentoring and growing a team focused on small to large Transportation projects in the Toledo, Ohio and surrounding areas. Role accountabilities:

  • Lead project teams to accomplish task assignments related to highway projects,
  • Perform work involving the preparation of Roadway design using local (State, County or City) or AASHTO standards
  • Project roles include planning development; urban and rural roadway design; freeway and interchange design; rights of way coordination and management; and public safety, all with a focus on quality
  • Full client engagement and responsibility for all aspects of project pursuit and development:
  • Ability to lead and manage all phases of a project
  • Develop opportunity leads, project teams and coordination with the Infrastructure Client Development team to capture strategic projects
  • Develop project scopes and budgets, interfacing with and maintenance of clients, mentoring and development of junior staff and design/drafters, and development of project plans and schedules
  • Contribute to and assist in leading the strategic planning, development, and growth of the Ohio Transportation team.
  • Interpersonal and client facing responsibilities will include excellent, clear, and concise, oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, resources, and presentations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 years of progressive highway (ODOT) design experience, including PM experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Ohio PE license or ability to obtain

Key Attributes

  • Experience working in and leading large multi-disciplinary teams
  • ability to direct staff that is completing design within Civil 3D, Microstation, or OpenRoads

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive highway (ODOT) design experience, including 5+ years of PM experience on ODOT projects
  • Experience working on large ODOT projects
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
