Western Kentucky University Specialist, Family Child Care in Bowling Green, Kentucky

Family Child Care (FCC) Specialist will be responsible for recruiting, coaching, training, offering technical assistance, and other supports to family child care providers (registered, certified and Type II family child care homes). FCCN-KY will also be responsible for collaboration with area businesses, supporting FCC providers level of the STARS Quality Rating System, and transition to a Licensed center.

FCC Specialist should have experience working in the early care and education field, working in or with Family Child Care is preferred; hold a KY Trainer Credential or be willing to earn one upon hire; have knowledge of Family Child Care programs and supports; and understanding of Adult Learning Principles. Responsibilities include travel to visit FCC homes; regional meetings; capability to work both independently without close oversight, and also be a collaborative team member. Specialist must value diversity and demonstrate cultural and linguistic sensitivity. Be able to work both independently without close oversight, but also be a collaborative team member.

This position will be responsible for working in the Salt River and Two Rivers Child Care Region including but not limited to Bullitt, Nelson, Washington, Larue, Meade, Marion counties.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood, child development or related degree

  • Experience working in the early care and education field

  • Experience coaching/mentoring adults

  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

    Additional Information:

Salary Range: $48,000 - $50,000
