Lockheed Martin is looking for an energetic and high performing Senior Systems Engineer to join the team in Boulder, CO. This position is in support of the Space Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS) program
In this role you will:
• Be able to frame risks and understand impact (cost/schedule/technical) across the broader program.
• Be able to translate/bridge technical discussion to BusOps and BusOps language to technical POCs.
• Know and understand current status of proposals, general understanding of funding posture across program (LOE scope vs. discrete, ongoing challenges among each OBS, etc.).
• Have general knowledge of system architecture and ongoing/future changes to system affecting system design at a high level; also understanding program processes.
• Skills – organized, track tasks to closure, patience with coaching risk owners/CAMs on risk management & mitigation development.
• Take ownership of risk management across program; proactively reach out to various people/orgs, and self-initiate since the ROMB is very much a “pull” of info from the program rather than a “push”.
Successful candidates would have:
• 4+ years of systems engineering experience focusing on testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or STEM discipline.
• Ability to work within a dynamic and fast paced team.
• Ability to travel on occasion to Colorado Springs and Denver LM worksites. Worksite would located in Boulder, CO.
• Must be able to work on-site 75% or more, with the occasional ability to telework.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience
• Working knowledge or experience with testing and problem solving for integrated systems
• Experience developing and executing test plans
• Active Top Secret security clearance, thus US Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
• Experience with OPIR and/or SBIRS mission processing and vehicle pre-launch testing
• Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data
• Ability to interact with hardware and software developers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
• TS/SCI clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
