Sterile Processing Supervisor
Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $23.22 - $34.83 an hour - Full Time, Days. 40 hours a week. +$2.50 for weekend shifts.
Boulder Community Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor responsible for the oversight; coordination and implementation of surgical instrument processing and work flow for the Surgery Department and various Nursing Departments including off-site clinics and emergency departments.

Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent preferred •Minimum of three years previous surgical services experience required. •Leadership experience required, preferably in a large acute care setting with high volume of cases •Must currently hold or agree to obtain within one year of employment one of the following certifications: Certification as a Surgical Technician or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Instrument •Specialist (CIS) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and distribution (CBSPD) International Association for Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM). A current certificate must be maintained as a condition of continued employment. •Inventory experience preferred •Service Excellence Skills •Team Building/Concept Skills •Interpersonal Skills •Extensive knowledge of sterilization techniques, processing and instrumentation as well as all other aspects involved with or pertaining to the SPD.
Responsibilities
•Supervises activities of sterile processing techs, vendors and volunteers. •Coordinates daily activities of sterile processing department. •Resolves staff, departmental and interdepartmental issues. •Performs managerial responsibilities as mutually agreed upon by the manager of surgical services. •Acts as role model and resource to staff. •Oversee and actively participate in receiving, processing, delivering, tracking and rendering safe instrumentation. •Guides, mentors, and serves as a resource for Sterile Processing Technicians. •Accountable for assisting the Sterile Processing Manager with day to day operations and directing employee efficiency and workflow. •Works closely with the Surgery Dept. to ensure all sterilization parameters are being implemented correctly. Monitors biologicals and flash rates. •Handles instruments and complex instrumentation correctly to insure proper functioning instruments are available in sets.
