TEKsystems Security Systems Engineer in Boulder, Colorado
Description:
Our client is in process of expanding and formalizing their security environment and in need of an Engineer to understand their current environment and assist with implementing processes across the organization as it relates to their security protocol. Someone with an understanding of Systems and architecture of the environment to properly troubleshoot is imperative. In addition, someone who has experience with their current security tools is highly preferred.
• Monitor for breaches of all critical security policies, such as, but not limited to, general Information Security Policy, Vendor Access Policy, BYOD, Zero-day Patching and Acceptable Use.
• Monitor internal and external security policy compliance.
• Partake in annual security audits and penetration testing initiatives, including remediating any gaps in policies, infrastructure, configuration, and patching.
• Assist in the design and implementation of security policies.
• Together with the IT Security team and security partners, stay up to date on emerging threats.
• Assist with vulnerability scanning and remediation process to ensure the security of all systems.
• Monitor all operations and IT infrastructure, security tools and technology, and maintain the discipline and process of reviewing all alerts and logs to ensure
security through day-to-day operations.
• Direct experience with data centers, telecommunications, network engineering, virtualized servers and general IT Architecture for multi-site companies that operate 24/7/365.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain the appropriate security infrastructure and practices to protect high performing, complex, multi-site IT infrastructure.
• Required working knowledge – technology:
o on-prem and cloud applications and integrations.
o Virtualization, VMWare, servers, and server infrastructure.
o Firewalls, Local and Wide Area Networks, TCP/IP, switching, routing, DNS, VPN and authentication.
o Windows Servers, Engineering and Administration, Azure and Active Directory.
o Crowdstrike, dark trace, minecast, O365 Defender
o Intrusion prevention and detection protocols.
o Experience with SOC, SIEM, MDR, EDR, Vulnerability Management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Periodic after-hours and weekend work required to resolve urgent problems and to carry out certain types of routine maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills, especially when working with users or other IT team members to resolve technology issues.
