What You Will Achieve

Role Summary

The Pfizer Molecular Pharmaceutics/Biopharmaceutics (MP/Biopharm) group is seeking an entry level data scientist / lab scientist hybrid. The data science portion of this role is focused on enabling the extraction, improved data storage, analysis, and visualization needs of the MP/Biopharm group. The lab portion of this role is focused on supporting experimental evaluation and formulation development of early candidate small molecule by measuring their key physical-chemical properties and designing and executing in vitro tests for formulation design. We are seeking a candidate with the interest, passion, and tenacity to design and conduct lab experiments as well as handle, structure, and visualize large data sets.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with related qualification (Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or science degree with strong interest in Data Science)

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as attention to detail

  • Exposure/experience with data organizing, grouping, structuring, extraction, data Informatics, data visualization concepts and software

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.

  • Eagerness and self-starter to leverage and apply the latest research to real problems in pharmaceutical research

Nice-to-Have

  • Strong foundational understanding of basic principles of physical, organic and analytical chemistry.

  • Experience conducting and optimizing routine laboratory experiments.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

This role requires working in a laboratory and the ability to perform mathematical calculations as well as complex data analysis.
