Radia, Inc. Aerospace Engineer in Boulder, Colorado

Architect systems, design and size components. 3D modeling of parts and assemblies. Define technical requirements and simulate / analyze system performance. Architect various aircraft mechanical systems (e.g., Air Management System, Fuel System, Hydraulic Power System), including producing drawings, diagrams, 3D models etc., to meet overall aircraft mission needs. Analyze weight, performance and cost implications of mechanical designs. Use thermal analysis tools and finite element modeling techniques to build thermal models to evaluate expected temperature gradients in various zones during flights. Size actuators for aircraft flight controls. Build dynamic simulations to evaluate the performance of aircraft hydraulic systems to inform the system architecture and component sizing. Write requirements specifications for aircraft Hydraulic Power Systems and Air Management Systems for distribution to component / system suppliers. 3D modeling of parts and assemblies. Use thermal analysis tools and finite element modeling techniques to build thermal models to evaluate expected temperature gradients in various zones of the aircraft during flights and use the results to inform the heating and cooling needs. Analyze weight, performance and cost implications of mechanical designs and trade options against each other. Hand calculations for estimating loads on the joints of various mechanisms, including flight control actuation mechanisms and the cargo door actuation mechanism. Architect various aircraft mechanical systems (e.g., Air Management System, Fuel System, Hydraulic Power System), including producing drawings, diagrams, 3D models etc., to meet overal
