FUJIFILM EHS Manager in Bothell, Washington

Overview

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will lead safety and environmental programs within the Fujifilm Sonosite organization, driving improved safety and environmental performance through thorough and accurate incident reviews, implementing programs to increase safety awareness and compliance, and ensuring safety meetings and training are meaningful and engaging. Provide oversight to ensure proper operation of environmental control systems.

This position is on-site located at our Bothell, WA location.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and lead both safety and environmental programs.

  • Initiate programs to raise safety awareness of employees.

  • Discuss safety concerns, participate in investigation of at-risk conditions, and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Manage the site safety committees and related programs.

  • Create, conduct, and coordinate area monthly safety inspections.

  • Coordinate site’s incident investigation process.

  • Fully understand and maintain all environmental regulations, permits, and reporting.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce all appropriate EHS procedures.

  • Drive and support and improve Management of Change program.

  • Implement safety policies and procedures.

  • Interface with regulators as needed for normal business and inspections.

  • Complete permit updates and reporting submissions.

  • Maintain information for and complete regulatory reports.

  • Function as part of the Fujifilm EHS community, coordinating programs with Fujifilm Holdings and other sites.

  • Work with Site Quality Departments, Fujifilm Holdings, and others to complete site and Fujifilm Holdings compliance audits.

  • Review and update health, safety, environmental, and EHS management system procedures through the document control system.

  • Coordinate site’s EHS training: including assigning LMS training, providing classroom training, developing training as needed and becoming familiar with LMS platform to manage upload and download of content.

  • Update Emergency Response Plan and Hazardous Management Plan documentation. Prepare and submit updates to regulatory agencies on required timelines.

  • Lead JHA and risk assessment to ensure EHS issues are recognized and addressed.

  • Manage areas of EHS Management Systems, including Procedure development, review and EMIS management.

  • Calculate EHS, sustainability and GHG statistics, and prepare reports for regulators, customers, and Fujifilm Holdings.

  • Monitor and maintain basic safety & environmental programs, including, but not limited to industrial hygiene, medical surveillance, management of change, emergency response, contractor approval, Hazcom, waste disposal (RCRA), Laboratory Chemical Hygiene, and others, as needed.

  • Close attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy required due to regulatory compliance reporting and documentation responsibilities.

  • Establish working relationships with all departments within the Fujifilm Sonosite organization, including Sales, Service, and international locations.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills/Education

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in an engineering, science, or EHS specialty.

  • Demonstrated EHS Program development and implementation.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ EHS job-related experience in a chemical handling environment.

  • Familiarity with safety and environmental laws and regulations required.

  • The ability to effectively lead meetings with participants at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Computer skills: Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

  • Incident Investigation/ Corrective action experience

  • Expected travel – less than 20 percent.

Desired Skills

  • Auditor experience is a plus.

  • Experience in industrial work environment preferred.

  • Experience in completing regulatory reports and sustainability metrics and reports required (Air emissions, Hazardous Waste, Tier II, TRI, etc.)

  • Completion of a recognized environmental or safety professional certification program a plus.
