Stipend Opportunity: Early Childhood Special Education Academic Assessor OVERVIEW: The Office of Specialized Services (OSS) seeks current BPS Teachers/Related Service Providers to administer special education testing to address the current backlog. Academic Assessors will need to be familiar with administering, scoring, and interpreting the Battelle tool, and/or other tools as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES: As part of the stipend opportunity, Assessors will: Administer the assessment in person and complete the evaluation reporting components: The evaluation report will be an original document written by the assessor and will contain testing results, a description of subtests administered, an interpretation of the results, and recommendations. A generated test summary from testing platforms will not be an acceptable form of an evaluation report. Testing will take place outside of regular working hours at an assessment center or at a school. Upload the assessment results and reports into EdPlan three days prior to the TEAM meeting. For children found eligible for academic support, goals must be provided. Contact the TEAM member presenting the report to discuss findings at the TEAM meeting. Testing may take place at a local school or an Assessment Center TERMS: The expected dates of service for this stipend opportunity are 12/16/24 to 3/31/24. Stipends will be paid on a per student basis once a case is completed and approved by the Deputy Chief of Services and Accountability or their designee. Stipends are set at $300 per completed case, including the assessment and report. IEP meeting attendance will be reimbursed per BTU stipend hourly rate for up to 1.5 hours. If the meeting is not held for any reason, (ex. Not scheduled, not conducted as anticipated due to lack of caregiver attendance), no compensation will be provided. Zoom timestamps must be submitted as proof that the meeting occurred. QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED: Currently working in Boston Public Schools; Experience administering Academic testing (see list above); In-person availability; and Appropriate licensure for administering the assessment.
