Job Title: Grants Administrator
Job Description
The Grants Administrator will be responsible for the pre and post award management of a portfolio of grants and contracts within a prestigious institute. This role involves working directly with Principal Investigators and the Administrative Director for Research in the submission of grant applications. The position requires the development and monitoring of all financial aspects of complex awards, many with international subcontracts, ranging between $5 - $10 million. Primary duties include ensuring compliance, budget oversight and maintenance, subcontract management, reporting to sponsors, and daily administrative and operational requirements of assigned contracts/grants.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain financial structures for all assigned grants/contracts according to sponsor and administrative guidelines.
Monitor monthly financial reports to ensure accuracy and budget integrity, and work with Principal Investigators to identify variations, trends, and issues in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with all grants and contracts, including working with the IRB on applicable human and animal protocols, consents, and related compliance issues.
Collaborate closely with research finance administration and staff on assigned grants and contracts.
Attend monthly RADG meetings and stay current with federal, state, and other requirements, timelines, and policy issues.
Contribute to the updating and maintenance of a centralized electronic grants management and archiving system.
Develop annual budgets in consultation with the Principal Investigator and Administrative Director, Research, and perform all activities related to closing out the current budget year and initiating the new budget year.
Verify the availability of funds for all equipment, personnel, and major purchases, and ensure compliance with federal purchase and contract requirements.
Essential Skills
3-5 years of experience in research administration with a focus on pre and post award management.
Working knowledge of NIH and other federal, state, and foundation regulations and requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and Internet applications.
Ability to maintain extensive electronic document and email files.
Exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality.
Highly goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in coordination with the team.
Excellent communication skills across multiple levels of the organization.
Strong analytical skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA).
Working knowledge of MicroStrategy, PeopleSoft, and Workday is desirable but not required.
Work Environment
This is a remote position with the requirement to come onsite 4 times a year. Candidates must be based in NH, ME, MA, CT, or RI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00
