REsurety, Inc. Senior Software Engineer I in Boston, Massachusetts
Position Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a central role in building innovative energy market analytics and transaction enablement solutions to power the clean energy economy. You will work closely with product and other engineering team members to design, build, and test feature enhancements to our transaction enablement platform. You will collaborate daily as part of a scrum team to continuously improve our software and methodologies and contribute to the development of renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with product and engineering team members to ensure technical requirements are well understood, scoped to deliver value quickly, and implemented with empathy for the customer.
Participate in daily scrum meetings and collaborate with other engineers to ensure that team commitments are met during 2-week sprint cycles.
Support team members as needed to resolve impediments and offer peer reviews and feedback on code changes.
Troubleshoot and debug issues reported by users or identified during testing phases and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Develop responsive front-end components using TypeScript and Microsoft Fast.
Improve and maintain back-end functionality using Java and Kotlin.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years developing software with a focus on full-stack web development
Proficiency with Java (or similar) object-oriented programming language
Experience with relational databases and proficiency in writing efficient database queries
Solid understanding of software development best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), testing methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Computer Science
Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
Experience with trading systems, power markets, or energy trading
