A Day in the Life of a Project Planner Our planning group works on a wide range of projects, including Safety Action Plans, Complete Street plans, active transportation plans, transit plans, multimodal corridor studies, and Safe Routes to School (SRTS). You will manage community engagement, as well as planning activities using the Safe System Approach. Familiarity with GIS, equitable engagement practices, and industry design stands will assist in your development of safety and active-transportation initiatives. We are known for our progressive approach to community engagement and partner collaborations. The planning team works closely with the design + engineering, landscape architecture + urban design, marketing, graphic design and communications practices within the firm. As a Project Planner, you will develop relationships with clients and partners, manage exciting and challenging projects, oversee tasks and proposals, lead analyses, represent Toole Design in project and stakeholder meetings, pursue and win work, and reinforce our reputation as trusted experts. Youll collaborate to deliver a variety of projects focused on making places and travel experiences better for everyone. Youll be at the table with clients and colleagues from a variety of disciplines, integrating input from a broad range of stakeholders to create award-winning plans that lead directly to implementation. Qualifications of a Project Planner: Six or more years of planning experience, preferably with experience in consulting A bachelors or masters degree in transportation or urban planning, landscape architecture, urban design, or a related field, Additional experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree AICP preferred Knowledge of multimodal transportation planning practices and techniques Experience planning and conducting community and stakeholder engagement Demonstrated success independently managing projects and maintaining client satisfaction Strong writing skills and experience working as a lead writer for proposals and planning doc ments
