Description

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel engines, such as faulty fuel systems or engine overheating

  • Conduct inspections of heavy equipment to identify any potential issues or malfunctions

  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot electrical systems in diesel engines

  • Repair or replace faulty parts in diesel engines, such as pistons, valves, or gaskets

  • Operate heavy equipment to test repairs and ensure proper functioning

  • Solder electrical connections and repair wiring harnesses as needed

  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of diesel engines

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical systems in diesel engines

  • Experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance

  • Knowledge of hydraulics and ability to repair hydraulic systems

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals

  • Familiarity with farm machinery is a plus

  • Physical strength and ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary

  • Correctly diagnose and repair equipment issues

  • Complete machine repair reports and document all needed information

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repair of Heavy Construction Equipment preferred

  • Work alone with a limited amount of supervision

  • Maximize the efficient use of service and repair processes to provide fast accurate repairs and minimize unnecessary expense

  • Efficiently utilize tooling and technical resources

  • Represent the company in a positive, professional manner

  • Communicate options to correct current problems

Class 8 and Heavy Equipment experience Preferred.

Position Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience working with heavy equipment

  • Valid Driver’s License or Commercial Driver’s License

  • Valid DOT Medical Card

  • Ability to work in a team environment and take direction
