State of Massachusetts Medication Administration Program (MAP) Coordinator in Boston, Massachusetts
The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking a mission-driven and dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in medication-related quality assurance standards to fill the role of Medication Administration Program (MAP) Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of the Medication Administration Program the selected candidate willmonitor and assist with the implementation of the Medication Administration Program statewide. Please note:Due to the nature of this position travel will be required statewide, therefore, reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license is preferred. _Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all Inclusive)_: * Assist providers with the establishment of medication-related quality assurance standards. * Provide site/program/provider-specific technical assistance utilizing data derived from the Department of Public Health (DPH) Clinical Review, DCF MAP Technical Assistance Tool, MOR, and DIR forms * Perform annual and PRN Technical Assistance visits at all MAP registered sites statewide. * Clarify and provide guidance around MAP policies and regulations and ensure site/provider compliance. * Assist the Director of MAP with oversight of the Medication Occurrence Report (MOR) system and identify patterns which may indicate that technical assistance and/or corrective action is necessary. * Collaborate with DCF Network Service team, EEC, Regional Nurses, DCF Area Offices, as well as with DPH inspectors and clinical reviewers. * Participation in the development and implementation of DPH MAP Policy Manual and Responsibilities in Action Curriculum * Represent in meetings with DCF provider agencies around MAP-related issues. * Participate in statewide "Train the Trainer" program. _Preferred Qualifications_: * Experience with DCF community systems, knowledge of medication-related DCF and DPH regulations and policies * Understanding and knowledge of the types and characteristics of drugs used in diagnosing, treating, and controlling physical, mental and/or emotional disorders. * Aptitude to engage in teaching, as well as the ability to plan and present trainings in a precise, understandable manner to persons of a variety of disciplines. * Commitment to cultivating a diverse, inclusive, and supportive environment for both consumers and staff. * Strong technology skills and experience working with electronic medical records. * Proficient usage of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. * Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to establish relationships with individuals, families, providers, and staff members. _To Apply:_ Please upload both Resume and Cover Letter for this position when applying. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility and (B) of which at least two years must have been in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Graduate degree with a major in Nursing may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience. No substitutions will be allowed for the required (B) experience. Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS IN SERIES: Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.* Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination. Special Requirements: Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines.
