Description
Per Diem MONDAY – FRIDAY DAY SHIFTS/ NO NIGHTS, WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYSSCREENINGS ONLY!
Function:
Reporting to the Radiology Supervisor, the Radiology/Mammography Technologist will perform all digital x-ray and mammography examinations as assigned. This individual will have the working knowledge of all facets of digital x-ray and mammography.
Representative Duties:
Performs X-rays and screening mammogram studies as assigned
Greet each client with a smile and welcoming, professional manner
Calls patients from the lobby into the exam room
Understands and maintains universal precautions in all clinical activities
Ensures readiness of assigned unit for patient encounters
Disinfects exam rooms daily and after contamination of communicable disease exposure with appropriate cleaning agent, or insures that this is done
Stocks exam rooms with supplies and equipment
Maintains equipment in good working order
Alerts Radiology Supervisor of broken equipment
Alerts Radiology Supervisor when stock inventory is low
Effectively communicates with patients, coworkers on medical team, in medical department and across departments
Confirms demographic information before conducting exam or scan; accurately record and enter any changes received
Abides by recognized ALARA & HIPAA requirements
Demonstrates a commitment to customer services
Assists in training other employees in the medical support department
Remains familiar with emergency procedures and codes
Receives and places necessary telephone calls consistent with professional matters and clinic business
Reads and maintains departmental policies and procedures
Provides clerical support and administrative assistance as directed
Demonstrates competency in alphabetizing, filing, faxing and other duties to support administrative office needs
Assists the Radiology Supervisor with Quality Control projects
Meets Agency Participatory Expectation
Suggests and participates in continuing quality improvement efforts
Adheres to all agency and departmental policies and procedures
Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested
Adheres to the highest principles of patient and client confidentiality
Adheres to established safety policies, procedures and precautions; identifies potential or actual unsafe situations in the environment and takes measures to rectify the situation
Attends all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings
Attends all regularly scheduled research meetings, trainings, forums and pertinent FCH staff meetings
Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested.
Performs other related duties as required
Requirements
License/Certifications: Massachusetts RT license, Massachusetts Mammography License, current standing with ARRT, BLS certification
Education: Associate degree in Radiologic Technology with certification in mammography
Maintains CEU accreditation as needed for licensure
Demonstrates competency in EMR, Microsoft Outlook
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years’ experience
Experience with patients with HIV and electronic medical records
Interest and experience in LGBT health and commitment to community health
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
OSHA category 1
Physical Requirements: regularly required – sitting; using hands to manipulate objects/tools/controls; reaching with hands and arms; standing and adjusting patient positioning; talking; hearing; occasional lifting required up to 25 lbs.
Noise level: usually quiet
