What is the job about?
Grundfos Pumps Corporation is seeking a Lead Service Technician to join our Service Delivery team to cover the following states: Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
As a Lead Service Technician, you will be responsible for the execution of repair and maintenance work, as agreed with the customer. You will also be responsible for customer satisfaction in the assigned market, are technical accountable and will work independently or together with ASPs (Authorized Service Partners) to address customer requests in an efficient and professional manner.
You will report to the Head of Service, East USA and will operate remotely out of any of the above mentioned states, although you will be required to spend your first few weeks in our Allentown, PA facility for training and onboarding. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.
Your main responsibilities:
As a Lead Service Technician, you will diagnose, repair, recondition, and adjust pumps and pump related equipment as required. You will complete all paperwork on the troubled equipment to which you are assigned. Assists Manager and supervisors in pump service operations development and growth. You will also be responsible for processing sales leads to increase Service sales according to the overall Service strategy.
Makes a risk assessment for every task;
Reports matters related to Safety, Health and Environment;
Disassembles, inspects, trouble-shoots, repairs and replaces parts , reassembles pumps, pump systems and accessories in a field service;
Advises the customer about shortcomings in the total system, which can prevent problems and offers a solution to these problems;
Assists manager by identifying and providing solutions for service and warranty matters, depending on the complexity of the issues, special consultation with technical support may be required;
Prepares clear and complete service reports and ensures that these are submitted on time (warranty claims, working hours FAS etc);
Assists in project execution – installation support, commissioning etc;
Executes agreed maintenance services and SLA for service agreements;
Supervises/directs ASP onsite service delivered in accordance with Grundfos service SOP requirement and customer expectation, where there is the case;
Reviews ASP job card and supports ASP to conclude the service case with correct technical solution and warranty qualification in the markets served by ASPs;
Provides technical support to ASP upon need, in the markets served by ASPs;
Coaches , leads and supports the development of the junior field technicians;
Work conditions:
Working in conditions where you may be subjected to hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to heat and exposure to chemicals or sewage applications.
Conditions that would need you to crawl, kneel, climb, reach, crouch etc and lift/push/pull up to 25lbs frequently to 50lbs occasionally.
Your background
We imagine that you have:
Technical education, knowledge of electrical/mechanical engineering, application knowledge.
5 -7 years of work experience in the industry or comparable environment.
Experience with pump technology would be an advantage.
Knowledge of controls, remote monitoring, and connectivity.
Experience driving well-defined processes within the service environment.
Ability to participate in work with processes or projects within the service environment.
Knowledge of best practices and systems in the service environment
