Wayfair Internal Audit Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em>This position will be based in our Boston, MA, office - this role is NOT a remote position. All Boston based corporate employees work in the office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office at least 4 days per week and have the option to work remotely on Fridays.</em></strong></p>

<p>Wayfair is looking for a Manager of Internal Controls to join our team! This fast scaling position provides the opportunity for career progression at a growing public company and is a dynamic and collaborative role offering exposure to many areas of the business.</p>

<p>The Manager of Internal Controls, Business Process, is responsible for the evaluation and design of Wayfair's internal controls and the assurance of organization-wide SOX compliance. Members of this team work closely with teams across the organization and this role requires someone who is strong in stakeholder management and has deep technical knowledge of the internal controls environment. <p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Evaluate and design Wayfair’s internal control over financial reporting as new systems are developed and/or processes are changed.</li>

<li>Manage the Financial Controls within the Internal Control function.</li>

<li>Maintain Master Risk Control Matrix and lead Compliance Software Project Management, which includes coordination with RSM and EY and actively following up with request owners to ensure support is being uploaded timely for our external auditors.</li>

<li>Coach Wayfair employees on SOX controls and SOX compliance software navigation.</li>

<li>Identify and evaluate internal controls and processes which mitigate risks, and related opportunities, like cost savings, for internal control improvement and implementation.</li>

<li>Work with business leaders to drive the design and implementation of efficient and effective processes and controls across the organization and design and implement new key controls, as needed.</li>

<li>Use problem solving and critical thinking skills to quickly analyze areas for process and control deficiencies, evaluate their risk implications, and draw the appropriate action plans.</li>

<li>Build and nurture positive working relationships with business owners, by providing high quality results, including cost savings and better business outcomes.</li>

<li>Assist to develop the organization’s yearly audit plan, focusing on audits that achieve defined business outcomes/ROI, for example, better collection rates, cost savings, etc.</li>

<li>Coordinate audit assignments and ensure good interactions with the administrators, staff, external auditors and law enforcement agencies.</li>

<li>Participate in the development and implementation of policies by providing short and long-term planning.</li>

<li>Work with the management to resolve issues that may have been identified through audit findings.</li>

<li>Conduct follow-up on audit findings with process owners.</li>

<li>Perform other related assignments as assigned by the management.</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>What You'll Need:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting Information Systems or related field, plus an appropriate certification in accounting and/or auditing is preferred&nbsp; (CPA, CIA, CISA and/or PMP).</li>

<li>6+ years of audit experience preferably in high-growth, entrepreneurial public company environments, and in a similar industry (e-commerce / tech / retail).&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>

<li>Expertise in audit methodologies, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), IIA standards and enterprise risk methodologies.</li>

<li>Strong management reporting and communication skills to present fact-based audit findings, reasoned insights, and actionable recommendations.</li>

<li>Ability to thrive in a high growth, entrepreneurial, and ambiguous environment where strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are a must.</li>

<li>Ability to quickly assess a situation/process at a top level, identify potential problems and recommend real 'business practical' solutions, as well as tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.</li>

<li>Proven understanding of project and program management and delivery, with a focus on technology and operational risk identification and management.</li>
