JOB TITLE: Director of Data Analysis, Marketing and Systems for Family and Community Advancement REPORTS TO: Chief Family Advancement Officer/Executive Director of Family and Community Advancement and Shared Decision Making POSITION OVERVIEW: The Director of Data Analysis, Marketing and Systems for Family and Community Advancement resides in OFCA and the School Family and Community Advancement and Shared Decision Making department within the Office of Family and Community Advancement of the Boston Public Schools, reporting to the Chief Family Advancement Officer with a dotted line to the Executive Director of School Family and Community Advancement and Shared Decision Making (ED). Director of Data Analysis works closely with the Chief and ED and is responsible for supporting and advancing the district’s vision, mission, and goals through building capacity for effective engagement with families and student participation in OFCA initiatives and shared decision making. Under the direction of the Chief and ED, the Director of Data Analysis, Marketing and Systems of Family and Community Advancement is at the forefront of leading efforts to leverage data, marketing strategies, and systems to advance authentic family and community engagement and decision making within the Boston Public Schools. They play a critical role and are responsible for leading the development and implementation of effective management systems and integrating efforts via comprehensive data analysis, culturally and linguistically responsive marketing and forward facing communication in shared decision making, parent universities, enrollment services and expanded learning. The Director of Data Analysis, Marketing and Systems for Family and Community Advancement has a leadership role in the direct advancement of all BPS students and families by supporting the previously mentioned OFCA departments with analyzing quantitative and qualitative data that impact students, families and shared decisions making. The Director of Data Analyst, Marketing and Systems for Family and Community Advancement will be responsible for making recommendations to develop and update district policies that will positively impact student outcomes and our services to families and the overall BPS community as aligned to BPS and OFCA goals and priorities. They will also be responsible for the linguistically, culturally and parent friendly communication marketing materials of our data and reporting and contribute to advancing the mission of the Boston public Schools. The position will have a particular emphasis on creating meaningful opportunities for authentic input and feedback from students and families and impacted stakeholders in the programmatic, services and experiences that OFCA provides. This position will serve in a director role within the office of OFCA and the Director of Data Analyst, Marketing and Systems for Family and Community Advancement will also be responsible for having previous data analysis and proven marketing and communication expertise or similar profession with evidence of having properly identified and used data metrics that have positively impacted student academic and other measurable outcomes used to measure student progress and school accountability. RESPONSIBILITIES: Data Analysis and Strategy: Lead data analysis efforts to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to family and community needs, preferences, and outcomes. Develop data-driven strategies and recommendations to guide decision-making and program planning. Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of family and community advancement initiatives around shared decision making, Expanded Learning Opportunities and student registration and assignment. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to program/service effectiveness as it relates to student outcomes. Develop statistical models and predictive analytics to forecast positive impact on student outcomes and inform strategies. Reporting Generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present data findings and insights to stakeholders. Website design and development including linguistically and culturally responsive marketing and data reporting. Analyze and interpret results and communicate findings to stakeholders in clear, understandable terms by customizing reports and visualizations to meet the specific needs and preferences of different audiences, such as families, educators, administrators, and policymakers. Interpret analysis results and communicate findings to stakeholders in clear, understandable terms. Engage in cross-departmental and stakeholder collaboration to develop evaluation plans, identify evaluation metrics, collect and report on relevant data. Use evaluation findings to identify areas for improvement and inform programmatic decisions and resource allocation. Provide recommendations for action based on data-driven insights and analysis. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with the ED to collect, analyze and develop reports on BPS’s shared decisions making model, making recommendations on how to increase school level partition in a systematic way. , Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including parents, OFCA team members, educators, administrators, researchers, and technology specialists, to address data-related challenges and opportunities. Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure alignment of data analysis efforts with BPS goals and priorities. Collaborate with Chief, ED and academics on walk through tool developments to support the evaluation of the shared decisions making process. Provide training and support to stakeholders on data analysis tools, techniques, and best practices. Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to support the development and implementation of effective family and community advancement initiatives aligned with OFCA and BPS goals and priorities Systems Management and Optimization: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of systems and technology platforms used to support family and community advancement efforts. Collaborate with IT staff or vendors to optimize systems functionality and ensure data integrity, security, and usability. Provide training and support to staff members on the use of systems and technology tools related to data analysis, marketing, and program management. Promote professional development opportunities to enhance staff members' skills in engaging and supporting families via data-driven decision making and by fostering a culture of collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement. Engage in cross functional team collaboration utilizing data, and departmental content to develop parent and community friendly interactive online marketing, branding and communication experiences. Design data driven student and parent centered visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces. Design graphics, icons, illustrations, and other visual elements to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the OFCA website integrating multimedia elements, such as videos, animations, simulations, and interactive exercises, to create engaging and interactive learning experiences for BPS families on shared decision making, registration and placement and expanding learning opportunities. Perform such other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Chief Family Advancement Officer. QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, education, or a related field Previous experience in data analysis, marketing, and systems management, preferably in the nonprofit or community development sector. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, marketing principles, and technology platforms. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles. Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, InVision). Ability to communicate complex data and information in a culturally and linguistically responsive way for diverse stakeholders. Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Current authorization to work in the United States An understanding of and commitment to gain greater understanding of what is necessary for an urban school system to enjoy continuous improvement in an increasingly complex and competitive environment. A deeply held and unyielding belief in the overarching mission of public education. QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED: Masters Level Education Bilingual or multilingual Experience in school district administration or similar role Familiarity with Boston and Boston Public Schools Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices for designing inclusive and accessible digital experiences. Strong creative and visual design skills, with a portfolio showcasing examples of web design projects and user interface designs. Terms: Managerial, C43.
