We are one of Boston's oldest and most respected philanthropic organizations and we are currently seeking a Development Operations Associate.

The Development Operations Associate supports the Associate Vice President, Philanthropy Operations and Strategy in the overall administration of the work of the development operations team within the Advancement department. The associate works on projects focused on enhancing campaign operations, supporting CJP’s prospect research and management work, and ensuring efficient operations and exceptional relationships across the team and department.

Essential Functions:

• Supports the AVP, Philanthropy Operations & Strategy in calendar management, processing of invoices, and in other general admin work as needed.

• Schedules team meetings and manages agendas in partnership with team leadership.

• Runs and distributes regular reports for frontline fundraisers including, but not limited to: weekly Pace report, closed gifts report, open balance report.

• Assists in the overall management of principal and supplemental giving efforts through the tracking of prospect moves and asks and in running status reports for advancement leadership.

• Performs basic prospect research functions including updating contact information, daily review of news sources, and obituary distribution.

• Supports overall prospect management and portfolio assignment work through the tracking of pending assignment approvals and assisting in annual portfolio composition review.

• Assists in data projects as needed.

• Overall portfolio support for AVP and Senior Director, Philanthropy Operations.

• Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience

Experience:

• 2+ years’ experience in development or similar field

Skills/Competencies:

• Ability to prioritize tasks, balance multiple assignments, meet deadlines

• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes and shifting priorities.

• Ability to analyze and interpret data

• Effective interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills

• Efficient communication both verbal and written

• High proficiency in Windows environment, including strong MS Excel skills

Other:

• Experience with Blackbaud CRM, Salesforce, or similar donor database preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Hybrid Work Schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays in office work is required; Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays remote work option applies.

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, much of which will be working at a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
