As a member of the Support organization, your focus is to deliver post-sales support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while serving as an advocate for customer needs. This involves resolving post-sales non-technical customer inquiries via phone and electronic means, as well as, technical questions regarding the use of and issue resolution for our Electronic Support Services. A primary point of contact for customers, you are responsible for facilitating customer relationships with Support and providing advice and assistance to internal Oracle employees on diverse customer situations and raised issues.

Responsibilities

As an Advisory Systems Engineer, you are expected to be a senior member of the problem-solving/avoidance team and be highly skilled in solving very complex (often previously unknown), critical customer issues. Performing the assigned duties with a high level of autonomy and reporting to management on customer status and technical matters on a regular basis, you will be expected to work with very limited guidance from management. Further, the Advisory Systems Engineer is sought by customers and Oracle employees to provide advanced technical advice.

Responsibilities with Oracle Enterprise Identity & Access Management/Governance and Cloud Security:

  • Resolve high level, very complex, or previously unknown issues requiring advanced technical knowledge and supporting tools.

  • Support various Oracle Identity Access & Management/Governance Components, Security Provisioning Workflows, Business Processes, and Cloud Security Solutions.

  • Performance tune Oracle Security Solution Stacks.

  • Apply knowledge of installation and cloud strategies.

  • Identify issues and debug all the tiers in the OIG Applications tech stack and Cloud Security Integrations.

  • Experience on implementation of SOA composites, custom workflows, approval policies and custom identity connectors.

  • Experience in upgrading OIG from 11g to 12c.

  • Work with the customer to establish action plans and provide guidance for support.

  • Research technical and industry related issues.

  • Analyze root cause of difficult problems involving multiple Identity Components.

  • Engage with Oracle Lines of Business during critical issues and expedite resolution.

  • Perform patch validation, upgrades and installations in lab and customer instances.

  • Identify and communicate pertinent Oracle alerts to the customer contacts and customer account team.

  • Perform regular status reviews of problems/issues.

  • Work with Oracle development, consulting, and on-site support.

  • Perform trend analysis and initiate corrective actions.

  • Be available to work in 24x7 capabilities if a critical issue requires flexibility in work schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related technical field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or in an analyst or engineering-related occupation. Experience should include a full life cycle implementations of Oracle Identity Management/Governance Suite or Cloud Security Technology.

US: Hiring Range: from $37.98 to $76.06 per hour; from $79,000 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
