Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Reading Success Teacher to join our dynamic elementary education team. This teacher will work with students in grades K-6 to provide specialized support in reading, helping young learners develop the essential skills needed to become confident, independent readers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of literacy development, a strong commitment to student success, and the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Essential Functions:
Implement Targeted Reading Instruction: Provide focused, individualized, and small-group instruction for students who need additional support in reading. Utilize research-based strategies to teach phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension to help students build strong reading skills.
Develop and Monitor Student Progress: Regularly assess students' reading abilities to determine areas of strength and growth. Use assessment data to adjust instruction, track progress, and set goals. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and provide recommendations for continued development.
Foster a Love of Reading: Create an encouraging and nurturing classroom environment that inspires students to develop a lifelong love of reading. Select age-appropriate and engaging texts that spark curiosity, build reading stamina, and foster a joy for learning.
Collaborate with Classroom Teachers: Work closely with general education teachers to identify students who may need additional support, implement strategies within the classroom, and share insights on how to integrate reading interventions across all subject areas.
Support Differentiated Instruction: Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities, English language learners, and gifted students. Provide a variety of learning tools, resources, and instructional strategies to ensure every student can succeed.
Promote Literacy Across the Curriculum: Assist students in applying reading skills to a wide range of subjects, promoting literacy as a foundational skill for academic achievement. Collaborate with teachers in other content areas to incorporate reading comprehension strategies into their instruction.
Maintain an Organized Classroom: Create a well-structured and positive classroom atmosphere where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to take risks in their learning. Maintain an organized system for tracking student progress, resources, and instructional materials.
Engage in Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in reading instruction, literacy development, and educational technology. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to continually refine your teaching skills and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelors degree in Education..
Valid elementary teaching license with a reading endorsement.
Knowledge of best practices in reading instruction and literacy development.
Experience working with elementary students, particularly in a reading intervention or support role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Preferred:
Experience working with students who are struggling readers or have specific reading challenges (e.g., dyslexia, ELL).
Knowledge of the Science of Reading and familiarity with research-based and reading interventions.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
