Oracle Sr Principal Software Engineer in Boise, Idaho

Job Description

This is a greenfield opportunity to design and build new cloud centric applications from the ground up. We are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives. An engineer at any level can have significant technical and business impact here. This individual will be fairly autonomous and be expected to contribute to a wide range of high-impact projects across the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure console. Daily tasks include UI development, testing, CI/CD, participating in scrum activities, and integrating with User Experience, Product, Design, Support and Project Management, and Service Teams.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in UI development

  • MS degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience

  • Experience developing with AJAX frameworks (eg. Angular, ReactJS, or Vue)

  • Experience with Typescript/Javascript, Webpack, CSS

  • Experience interfacing with JSON REST APIs

  • Experience with Node.js/npm, Selenium/Webdriver, Jest

  • Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals

  • Experience with developing microservices that communicate via event streams

Experience with integrating LLMs in event-driven architectures

  • Ability to design and implement UI components that provide an intuitive and seamless customer experience

  • Ability to translate wireframes into prototypes and production-ready interfaces

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with continuous deployment tools (e.g. Teamcity, Jenkins)

  • Experience with source control (GIT, Maven, SVN)

  • Experience with container-based deployment (e.g. Docker)

  • Experience with monorepo structures and build systems

  • Ability to quickly pick up new languages and technologies

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies, specifically Scrum

  • Self-driven, able to work independently on a project and lead team initiatives

  • Adaptable, able to pivot priorities as projects develop

  • Passionate about developing intuitive, scalable web interfaces

  • Excited about technology, have a passion for learning about the latest technologies and building compelling web applications and UI

  • Strong communication skills, including cross-team collaboration

  • Familiarity with cloud services, networking and virtual machines

Responsibilities

We are seeking hands-on SR Principal Member of Technical Staff Engineers that share our passion and excitement of operating distributed systems at hyper scale using cloud native best practices. You will have part in the disruption of the health care industry and will help deliver better patient care.

As a CMTS engineer in our team, you’ll be responsible and lead efforts in designing and building scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support health care platform, applications, and our end users. We believe in ownership and expect you to think long term, mentor, and empower other engineers. As a tech lead you will own the complete SDLC from architecture, development, testing, first class monitoring, to production.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, or equivalent

  • 8-10 years of developing and shipping enterprise distributed and/or cloud native systems

  • Strong grasp of system design fundamentals and distributed systems architectural best practices

  • Demonstrated ability to write great code in Java, Python, or similar OO languages

  • Experience with web application development using microservices frameworks such as Helidon, Dropwizard, Spring, etc.

  • Experience with Public Cloud SaaS, PaaS Services and/or related technology experience, Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development

  • Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)

  • Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative and energetic environments

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
