We are looking for a Showroom Consultant to manage our sample room, track inventory of samples, handle re-orders, write labels, and keep the sample room organized. The consultant will also keep the showroom presentable for walk-in customers and assist them in finding the right tiles by asking insightful questions about their preferences and styles.
Responsibilities
Manage the sample room by tracking inventory of samples, handling re-orders, writing labels, and keeping the room organized.
Ensure the showroom is presentable and welcoming for walk-in customers.
Greet customers as they arrive and assist them in navigating the showroom to find the types of tiles they are looking for.
Ask customers questions about their color preferences and style (contemporary/traditional) to guide them to the appropriate tile options.
Essential Skills
Face-to-face customer service experience (retail, admin, barista, childcare, etc.).
Comfortable approaching individuals and building relationships in the showroom.
Designer or Interior Design experience/degree/certificates.
High School diploma or GED.
Basic computer skills, including basic Excel and data entry into existing spreadsheets.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior work experience with tile or construction material is a plus.
Work Environment
The employee will work primarily in an office space but may escort customers to the slab warehouse to view products and get samples. This is a very team-oriented environment with training provided for industry knowledge. The position is a 3-month contract-to-hire with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and potential Saturday shifts from 9 AM to 1 PM. If working on a Saturday, the normal shift would be adjusted to 4 days during the week plus Saturday, with one consistent day off during the week. Professional appearance is required, with no large visible tattoos or piercings.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00
