Insight Global Infrastructure Install Technician in Boise, Idaho

Job Description

A large telecommunications provider is looking for an Infrastructure Install Technician to join their team. This Installation Technician will handle the deployment, installation, and activation of network Transport (DWDM) and L2/L3 equipment. This role involves working with an infrastructure project director to develop and execute install for SOW for assigned projects. The technician will assist the network engineering team with the final activation and acceptance of network infrastructure equipment, and collaborate with operations, field technicians, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time. Daily responsibilities include installing and activating network infrastructure equipment according to internal and customer standards, providing smart hands support for the Transport and L2/L3 product teams; supporting Optical and IP teams; recommending optimization and cost-saving measures in POP builds, ILAs, and HUB sites; and assisting with planning, outside plant activities, and customer project support.

 We are looking for a detail-oriented and communicative individual with a foundation of experience in installing optical transmission systems. This Install Technician will work locally in Boise, Idaho and go on-site 5 days a week. Some night shift maintenance activities may occur a 1-2 times a month. This is a 9 month contract role that can pay between $33.65-$36.05 with medical benefits and 401K options offered on contract. If interested, please apply!

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience with telecommunications equipment

2+ years activating, installing, and commissioning optical transmission systems

Experience servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing telecom equipment utilizing Ciena, Infinera, and Nokia optical transport Quality assurance experience null
