The Boise Facilities ID1 Tool Install Engineering Lead at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for providing leadership of the Engineering team in the design execution of internal Micron and oversite of contract partner tool installation projects. In this role you will optimize systems and processes to adapt to changes in the business, meet facilities business commits, and develop and supervise metrics to ensure performance of the Engineering team. You will provide feedback to the ID1 Tool Install Manager on performance for all direct reports and/or contract staff, which includes providing guidance, advice, and leadership.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Safety & Quality:

  • Reviews and applies job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed

  • Supports risk and/or failure mode and effects analysis

  • Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws including PPE, COHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety

  • Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with collaborators

  • Leads quality improvement initiatives to reduce Tool Install delays and Fab impacts, and improve efficiency

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Invests time in coaching and mentoring people

  • Provides honest assessments of people

  • Partners with key team members to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics

  • Coordinates with partners and leaders on issues and changes, and provides regular status updates

  • Provides a high level of service with strong customer focus and builds effective relationships with supported teams

  • Demonstrates strong partnering, negotiation and teamwork skills

  • Generates and incorporates ideas from others to influence or enable key strategic objectives

  • Actively participates in applicable department meetings

  • Collaborates with areas leaders to create personal performance and development goals

  • Communicates proactively with leaders and partners on the daily priorities and issues

  • Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation

  • Proactively communicates issues that could cause install delays, Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, lost moves, etc.

  • Uses questioning skills to better understand customer needs

  • Interprets customer needs to identify potential opportunities

  • Participates in cost studies and assists in identifying equipment and materials deemed applicable for a project

  • Communicates and coordinates with internal and external department team members to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient completion of tool installations

  • Provides timely resolution of Request for Information and Scope Change Requests

Project Management/Planning:

  • Manage all outside contracted tool install engineering work using professional experience and tool install knowledge to ensure requirements are met for each tool.

  • Uses a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and manage projects and their schedules

  • Manages projects to ensure deliverables are completed fulfilling the scope requirements

  • Provides code review and analysis specific to various engineering subject areas

  • Participates in mid to long-term infrastructure planning for facilities to enable future tool installs in support of the overall company plan

  • Supervises actions and provides critical issue path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time

  • Defines and leads sophisticated, multi-disciplinary projects of critical importance to Micron

  • Prepares and/or validates project scope and ensures vital guidance from appropriapartnersers

  • Ensures that scope meets requester needs

  • Works directly with drafting and design consultant resources

  • Coordinates and leads meetings and initiates follow-up action for ongoing and future projects

  • Provides support for the design and specifications for new facilities infrastructure

  • Responsible for final approval of Tool Install BIM model content

  • Reviews design packages

  • Helps to shape strategic decisions and provides technical support

Technical/Data Analysis:

  • Leads a multidiscipline engineering team in support of ID1 Tool Install goals

  • Establishes leading/lagging metrics to ensure Engineering activities are completed according to agreed upon plans

  • Analyzes designs, including SUDS to increase efficiency, and drive cost savings

  • Lead all ID1 Tool Install Engineering activities for Lessons Learned to ensure best in class execution.

  • Provides solutions support for sophisticated problems and addresses root cause

  • Supports risk and/or failure mode and effects analysis

  • Provides consultation and technical support to Operations, Maintenance, Manufacturing and other department/sites

  • Ensures tool install compliance with federal, state, and local laws

  • Partners with key team members to identify gaps and opportunities for equipment/process efficiencies

  • Drives a culture of TPM

  • Partner and align with OSM and Construction team to drive modularity in design.

  • Incorporates safety controls in every aspect of the design, enhancement, and modification process in accordance with design standards and specifications

Qualifications:

  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills

  • Strong partnering, negotiation, and team-working skills with team members from different disciplines

  • Proven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiences

  • Strong understanding of data extraction, data analysis and reporting methodologies

  • Proven ability to use schematic diagrams to troubleshoot systems to components level

  • Demonstrates AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM skills

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Minimum – Relevant engineering degree or appropriate certification/licensing

  • Preferred: Idaho licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Preferred: 5 years of experience in Facilities semiconductor manufacturing-related engineering work

  • Experience: 3 years of experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
