Example of Duties:

  • Serve as a leader for the health professions boards and the directing related programs, including establishment of new programs when necessary.

  • Serve as a liaison to other health professions programs, the Bureau Chief and to senior DOPL management.

  • Serve as an Executive Officer to multiple Health Professions Boards.

  • Oversee streamlining and implementation of processes within the programs, including establishment of the maternal mortality review committee and its related work.

  • Prioritize program modernization efforts, considering staffing, resources, and sustainability.

  • Provide leadership, innovation, and management to program managers and the agency.

  • Analyze trends within and among the programs in order to make data-driven funding and staffing decisions.

  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders (e.g. agency heads, associations and elected officials).

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

  • Planning and implementing projects including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes

  • Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public

  • Developing and monitoring contracts

Minimum Qualification Specialties:

Experience:

  • Developing and promoting support for a service program;

  • Developing and presenting training to groups;

  • With business or public communications systems and/or informational systems;

  • Working with current generation computers and software systems;

  • Researching, planning, organizing, monitoring, and evaluating a human service related program;

  • Using Management Information Systems including databases, applications, and network infrastructure for project or program applications.

Good knowledge of human service systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A healthcare provider, licensed or eligible for licensure in Idaho, with at least 6 years of related education or experience leading large teams, including remote and/or field staff

  • Background in health professions policy work

  • Demonstrated experience in effective communication and collaboration skills to work with teams, other division leaders, boards, and stakeholders on both a national and local level

  • Experience interpreting and applying rules, policies, and procedures related to program operations to ensure compliance with state and federal laws

  • Experience working with boards/commissions, and programs to include establishing and maintaining relationships with Board chairs and Board members, and partial or full execution of Board meetings

  • Experience leading change management initiatives, including demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, problem solving and strategic thinking

  • Demonstrated skills in developing and managing operating budgets to include federal grants
