As an Automated Material Handling System Equipment Engineer you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing, and optimizing our Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) equipment to improve product quality, driving yield improvements, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. You will also be required to identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC/FDC methodology. Coordinating and conducting equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost optimization activities, handling new equipment qualifications and managing, auditing and collaborating with equipment suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and risk mitigation objectives.
The AMHS Equipment Engineer role is responsible for supervising the health of their assigned equipment, ensuring high-quality output, and providing pro-active redundancy plans for bottlenecks that could impact Fab cycle time (CT) or turns. They are also responsible for supervising vendors to install and sustain AMHS systems.
Skill Sought Out For This Role:
For this role specifically we are looking for a candidate familiar with AMHS hardware as well as a strong skillset on AMHS specific software.
Experience with OHTC, OHVC, MES, MCS software setup and maintenance.
Ability to work closely with vendors to troubleshoot issues, develop an action plan and quickly make decisions in high stress equipment down situations.
Ability to help develop and track area metrics, charts and analytics to help improve the utilization and efficiency of the AMHS system.
Proven Automation skills through previous automation projects requiring coding/machine learning/JMP Scripting
Strong ability to perform functions of this role described above with minimal direction/guidance.
Strong leadership skills with the shown ability to coordinate efforts across a variety of groups.
Strong partnering and teamwork skills
Demonstrate ability to resolve sophisticated problems, project management, resolve equipment issues, and develop procedures or actions plans when one isn't in place.
Mature time management, organization, and prioritization skills
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Candidates with AAS in Electronics or relevant military experience can be considered.
5+ years of experience with Automation Equipment (semiconductor experience preferred)
Experience in manufacturing.
Strong problem-solving skills.
