Actalent Survey Cad Technician in Bluffton, South Carolina
Job Title: Survey CAD TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician who can work independently with minimal supervision. This role involves producing construction staking points, preparing field-to-finish CAD drawings, and completing various types of surveys including Topographic, Alta, Boundary, and As-built surveys. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for Boundary Reconfiguration, drafting legal descriptions, construction staking, and researching plats and boundaries.
Responsibilities
Work with Trimble/Carlson survey data collectors.
Read and interpret construction plans.
Complete projects on time with minimal supervision.
Reduce field notes and prepare office surveys.
Perform basic mathematical and trigonometric calculations.
Prepare plats, drawings, as-built, tree, and topographic surveys and exhibits using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Perform routine analysis to ensure data accuracy and reasonableness.
Communicate clearly with field crews, engineers, and project managers.
Essential Skills
Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Previous land surveying CAD experience.
Ability to interpret Topographic, Alta, and Boundary Surveys, As-Builts, and Drafting.
Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Ability to work accurately and in a timely manner.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
Formal training in a surveying-related field is a plus.
2-3 years of experience in surveying technology as a drafter/CAD technician.
Work Environment
You will work normal 8-hour days from 7:30 AM to 5 PM in a relaxed and laid-back office environment with approximately 8 people. This full-time role requires 40 hours per week in the office during business hours. Located in the low country just outside of Hilton Head Island, SC, with easy access to beaches, year-round beautiful weather, and proximity to Charleston, SC, and Savannah. The work environment offers flexibility in the work schedule.
